2 Yellow-headed Blackbird
1 Orchard Oriole
Shiawassee NWR Auto Tour, SA - The Yellow-headed Blackbirds have been seen on the far east end of Grefe Pond. Cattle Egrets & American White Pelicans continue in Pool 1A.
Two regularly singing (pit-see) male Acadian Flycatchers were in two distinctly different locations along the trail. The first was heard when the trail is closest to the freeway then turns in a southerly direction. The second was heard roughly 75 meters beyond where the trail turns in an easterly direction along the Salt River ridge. The latter location is where, with much patience, a Cerulean Warbler was singing and where I heard a Red-headed Woodpecker across the river. The Yellow-bellied Flycatcher was heard nearer to the parking area. No tape playbacks were used.
I walked the Chippewa Nature Center & wetland grasslands but neither Henslow's Sparrow or Grasshopper Sparrow were observed/heard.
