It was an amazing difference in the number and diversity of waterbirds compared to the previous Saturday as the temps rose and the open water greatly expanded at the Karn Plant. Scroll down if you care to compare the numbers.
This flooded farm field on the west side of the end of Jones Rd looked like the middle of March instead of the third week in January with open water, no snow, and plenty of waterfowl swimming around and feeding.
