Common Nighthawk 244
A massive migratory group of Common Nighthawks flew along the Tawas Bay shoreline in roughly a mile stretch, feasting on a flying ant hatch. The Ring-billed Gulls were mixed in the feeding frenzy. I counted those that flew to the 'south' of me along with a very large group that flew over the gypsum dock on Douglas Drive, and then many more descended from lofty heights over the bay to enter into the feast. There were likely many more than I was able to count in this phenomenal observation.
