Monica wrote regarding the incredible robin count, "Wickedly fast-flying, the birds were riding the front edge of the giant warm front. I counted them as they crossed over the road at an average height of about 200 feet, over a span of 24 minutes. Numbers slowed after the leading edge of the front passed; the remaining travelers came down to roost or, perhaps, just rest at 6:40. The stream of birds was a tenth of a mile wide. My vision was obscured a short distance to the north-- I don't know if any groups were passing out of my sight. The birds were largely silent with few birds vocalizing. at one point, a small flock of robins that had been in nearby trees when the spectacle began rose up from their branches and joined their brethren:) It was an awe-inspiring sight. I remain amazed and humbled."
