9 Trumpeter Swan 3 Wood Duck -- In TP 1 Mallard 3 Pied-billed Grebe 3 Great Blue Heron 1 Great Egret 4 Green Heron 5 Osprey Watched [nest] for 40 minutes, only saw two juveniles, both doing some wing flaps and jumping, - then female came to nest, shortly after male flew in and dropped off a large fish and flew off. Saw the other juvenile but never saw him being fed. It never lifted head and was not aggressively seeking food as the other two. Not a good sign - hope the runt makes it. As I am writing this one is really jumping up and down exercising it's wings - won't be long and it will be flying. 1 Broad-winged Hawk 3 Virginia Rail 6 Sandhill Crane 1 Caspian Tern 1 Black Tern 3 Belted Kingfisher 2 Northern Flicker (Yellow-shafted) 1 Pileated Woodpecker 3 Alder Flycatcher 1 Hermit Thrush 2 Black-and-white Warbler 18 Common Yellowthroat 3 White-throated Sparrow | Tuttle Marsh, IO |
